The City of Louisville has approximately 19,400 residents and 7.9 square miles within the boundaries. The City, incorporated in 1882, lies in southeastern Boulder County roughly six miles east of the City of Boulder and 25 miles northwest of Denver. The residential size of the City is not likely to grow significantly as there is little room. Commercial and industrial growth are expected, however, as there is room for both in Centennial Valley and the Colorado Tech Center.
Many Europeans migrated to Louisville to work in the mines as jobs were plentiful. The remnants of the coal mines and underground passageways are gone now. Farmland and residential properties boast beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains and flower filled suburban neighborhoods. Louisville residents enjoy approximately 1700 acres of designated open space. Many commuters that work in Boulder or Denver city live here for the peaceful tranquility and small town lifestyle, and the short drive into the city.
Louisville also has easy access to The Rocky Mountains, Denver International Airport, The University Of Colorado at Boulder, beautiful golf courses, and Flat Irons Mall.
